9 cell miniature train cake mould made from flexible silicone bakeware. Make simple yet stunning party cakes. Ideal for any child's birthday cake - or that big kid in you !
The first cell makes the engine and the other 8 cells are for the carriages. There are seven different carriages (with one carriage style duplicated to make 8 carriages total).
This mould would also be super used with ice cream or jelly.
It requires quite a lot of cake mix as I found when my first attempt only filled three carriages ! Your mix needs to fill to the top of the detail of the mould. It does not matter if there is a bit of a hollow in the middle as the mix will rise above the tray.
Once the cakes are sufficientlycooled, remove one at a time. The tops will need cut off and discarded to leave the engine and carriages with flat bottoms to stand on a plate or tray. Basically, the cakes will be inverted - so the tops are becoming the bottoms.
Excess mix can be used for a trifle - or stick two cut-off tops together with cream or icing for a lunchbox treat.
Overall Mould size (approx) - 390mm long x 243mm wide.
Cell sizes vary from approx95mm > 110mm long x 65mm wide x 45mm deep.
Best made with a dense madeira type cake mix. You do need to grease and flour intricate moulds like this before baking and release cakes when still a little warm for best results.
