This mould is the classic size and shape used to make Financiers. Financiers are a French cake made with browned butter and ground almonds. The name came from a district in France where they were popular with investment banker / stock brokers.
You can find a couple of financier recipes on our blog at www.siliconemoulds.blogspot.com though the ones photographed were made in other shapes of moulds.
Make up to 7, large wafer biscuits, chocolates, soaps (or whatever you fancy) each time with these fantastic non stick silicone moulds.
These moulds are very flexible and you do need to put them on a baking sheet in the oven. Two moulds will generally fit on a standard baking sheet.
Each cell is about the same size as a 3 finger kitkat would be - if such a thing was made ! Make fabulous bullion bar type chocolates. One large bar of Bournville with orange zest will fill 4 cavities.
